Isumi Railway’s attractive features

There are many railway enthusiasts such as noritetsu (train-riders) and toritetsu (train- photographers). The Isumi Railway and Kominato Railway crossing through the Boso area also have many fans. Along the railways, we can always see visitors taking pictures of the railways and the mountains.

Originally the Isumi Railway aimed for bringing convenience to the local people, but now you can enjoy it as amusement. The ambition of the urban railways is to deliver their passengers and goods faster and safer. But Isumi Railway’s speed is slower than cars and the train runs once every hour for us to enjoy the peaceful view of mountains and villages. Why there are so many people loving this train?

Actually the low speed is the charm of the railway. You can see the daily life of the local people and scenery of four seasons while riding the train. It is not a “rushing railway” but it’s a “healing railway”. For those who are very busy and tired, it gives them “Relaxation” with the peaceful scenery.
